What are micronations ?

Micronations, or ephemeral states, are officially nations not recognized by the United Nations as being souvereign countries.
More specifically, Micronations are fictious countries that are formed by people who like pretend being a citizen of an imagined country. They come in all shapes and sizes, from single citizens micronations to micronations having or pretending to have thousands of citizens.
Some of these micronations officially claim a land territory, sometimes part of a city where it's original citizens come from, sometimes private property such as a house or a bedroom and some other times imaginary land on strange planets.

Which micronations CANNOT be hosted on your servers ?

In theory, we can host any Micronations that doesn't participate in illegal activities, however we have chosen, a micro-hosting.net to avoid certain micronations.

As such, we specifically prohibit these categories of micronations :

• Money-making schemes. Any micronation charging a significant citizenship fee or which request high or frequent donations to remain a citizen will be refused.


• Micronations with effective land claims. If you actually control the land you claim, such as Sealand does, you should contact our supplier for hosting, since micro-hosting.net is for "virtual" micronations.


• Violent or warlike micronations. If you activly participate in micronation wars, we will explicitly refuse your application.


• Role-playing game nations. If your micronation is only a role-playing game country with all of the activity played inside the rules of a game, you should contact our supplier for hosting, since micro-hosting.net is for "real-life" micronations. Please note: If your micronation evolved from a role-playing game and is now "played" in person, you are welcomed !


• Law-breaking micronations. If you break any laws, our supplier may require us to cancel your account. This include copyright law, spamming(wheter actually illegal or not), child protection laws such as COPPA or if you libel or defame someone.


• Micronation leagues. If your league is a federation of micronation, you are welcome, but otherwise, you should contact our supplier for hosting.

Which types of micronation CAN be hosted on your server ?

Any micronation that is not exluded by the above paragraph can use our services, regardless of membership into ESTO. In fact, even Micronations that do not qualify for ESTO can still use our services.

For example, a new micronation with only 2 citizens cannot apply for membership into ESTO, but can still use our services. Also, micronations using the "Big Lie" can still be our clients.
